Like a conveyor belt, the 2022/23 season has seen a regular run of AA winners among the VBVA crew. This event Emily stepped up with a straight sets final win, giving her the opportunity to compete at the highest level in the state in Round 9.
Having rolled through their pool undefeated, Emily and partner Olivia, continued their strong form in two against Bond/Plapp. A closely fought semi-final against fellow VBVA player Jess and partner Ruby, saw them lose their first set, before storming home in the third. The momentum of that win pushed them through their final, also winning in three. A fantastic result Em!
Hilary and Lucy finished equal third, losing their semi in three.
In other divisions, Isadora pulled out her first A win with partner Jemima; winning in three tight sets. Bring on AA!
Across the courts, Carlos won his first A event with partner Dylan, and in the Mixed Triples Rosie and Ella, with partner Shelley lost a close final to Boys three’s team, headed by Jack.
