Sam, playing with fellow AVA recruit Smith, rolled through to the Semi’s of DIV 1, before falling to eventual winners Greber/Robins. They stepped up to win their Bronze medal play-off. A fantastic result with points that will hopefully better place them for Round Two Elite group qualifying.
In DIV 1 Women’s, Emma and Gemma lost a close Semi-final, but came back to win Bronze. On their way through to such a fantastic result, they got one over their fellow VBVA friends Talia and Ella, having saved multiple set match points. It meant Talia and Ella finished in 5th, with Lulu and Cat finishing 13th.
James pulled out a great result in DIV 3 Men’s, making the final and walking away with Silver around his neck. Playing as a defender with an even taller Queenslander in Nicholas Humphries, the pair made it hard for the eventual winners, Furrer/Attrill… the former of which was unable to pick up an Elite division wildcard, of which will likely be granted for the next round. Max and Quin finished equal 9th.
Will, playing with AVA compatriot, Samuel Chen (NSW), lost both their games in the ELITE Men’s division, to finish the tournament in 13th.
Sammy, playing with Milla finished in 9th position in the ELITE division, winning a game and vital national points. Hilary finished 13th in Div 2.
